Venice Discover Shakespeare Tour: Stories Behind the Bard
Overview
Walk in the footsteps of Shakespeare’s most iconic characters as you explore the Venice that inspired The Merchant of Venice and Othello. This immersive tour takes you through the city’s atmospheric streets, uncovering the literary and historical connections that link the Bard to La Serenissima.
From the Jewish Ghetto, the meeting point in Campo del Ghetto Nuovo, where Shylock’s world comes to life, to the haunting beauty of the Ponte del Cimitero, reminiscent of Othello’s tragic fate, this tour blends history, literature, and the magic of Venice itself.
Discover the city’s real-life inspirations, hidden gems, and the cultural backdrop that shaped Shakespeare’s vision of passion, revenge, and destiny.
