Tbilisi Through the Ages Self Guided Walking Tour
Overview
In the 5th century, a king’s falcon chased a pheasant into a hot spring and Tbilisi was born. This self-guided audio tour takes you to that exact spot and 14 more stops across Tbilisi’s Old Town, from ancient sulfur baths and 1,500-year-old churches to a glass bridge that blinks the periodic table in Morse code at night.
Walk from the old to the new, from Rose Revolution Square down grand Rustaveli Avenue, past the church where legend says a woman gave birth to a stone, through the cafe-lined lanes where Dumas nearly abandoned his travels to keep feasting. Climb to Narikala Fortress for a panoramic view, and end at the Mother Georgia statue with her bowl of wine and sword — a city’s character in one image.
