Secrets of City Circle Walking Tour
Overview
Discover the hidden history of Sydney’s City Circle railway through Central, Museum, St James, Circular Quay, Wynyard and Town Hall stations. Explore heritage architecture and hear stories of ghost platforms, abandoned plans, wartime preparations and the 1916 Army Riot at Central. Learn how John Bradfield’s vision helped shape Sydney, spotting details commuters often miss.
This guided tour combines walking, train travel and storytelling in public passenger areas. It does not enter tunnels, ghost platforms or restricted areas.
Meet at the entrance to Platform 1 inside Central Station, beside the NSW TrainLink booking office.
Train fares are NOT included. Bring a valid Opal card or contactless debit/credit card; fares depend on travel, concessions and caps.
The route is largely undercover or underground, subject to rail services and disruptions. Groups may include up to 40 participants. Private bookings available by arrangement.
