Departing from Rifugio Sapienza, in Nicolosi, the cable car will take you up to 2,500 m. From here, you will begin your hike toward the maximum altitude allowed by volcanic monitoring. The uphill trek lasts about 1.5 hours, passing several craters, including those formed during the 2001 eruption. Along the way, there will be extended breaks to rest and take photos.
