Overview

Rotterdam is always striving for a brighter future! Proof of this is the skyscrapers, the epitome of scientific thought, and the phenomenal leap which the city has made in the past 70 years.

But apart from large-scale projects, Rotterdam has a hidden side that is equally interesting: Rotterdam's street art has a life of its own. But if you peek under the curtain, you'll realize how much more there is to see.

Rotterdam is full of street art. From classic graffiti to street installations, from huge murals to tiny mosaics, Rotterdam has it all. Not only is there room for faceless hooligans, but also "the great and terrible" Picasso. Street art is a terrific storyteller, and it will present us with the most amazing, touching, and fascinating stories that no one else knows about.

Rotterdam street art is a great tool to discover the character of Rotterdammers and what they are all about. And this lovely piece by Joren Joshua does an excellent job. While Rotterdam is an extremely open-minded and welcoming city its roots lie in its port. And sea-port is not a place for rookies. Joren Joshua combines the lightheartedness of the contemporary city with its roots and no-nonsense mentality

Zebra by Herman LamersDon’t look up unless you do not want to notice a real zebra sitting in the nest. You heard me right. Herman Lamers is a contemporary artist that likes playful and interactive work in public. Where did this zebra come from? Why is it in the nest? Come and find out!

kunstwerk 'Santa Claus' van Paul McCarthy

Santa Claus aka “The Buttplug Gnome” by Paul McCarthy Probably the most famous statue in Rotterdam and definitely the one to cause the most giggles and shy smiles. A symbol of the holiday's spirit holding an obviously phallic object in his hand (also known as a Christmas tree) to this day provokes a lot of debates and has a long history in Rotterdam. A must-see object- zero doubt.

Will You Marry Me? by Tymon de LaatStreet art evokes and expresses many emotions. Sometimes it can do it literally. Will You Marry Me? Is both a very strong piece of art and the most creative marriage proposal in Rotterdam. Tymon de Laat managed to weave in a lot of references to his (spoiler alert) wife, however, to a regular passing by it is yet another fantastic work by the master.

Sylvette by Pablo Picasso. While you may think public sculptures are not street art I would like to disagree. It is art, and it is on the street. Therefore it would be a crime not to include Pablo Picasso’s giant stone sculpture of the muse that has inspired him for many years. Weirdly shaped and yet astonishingly beautiful it is there for all Rotterdammers to see

This information can be found on every Experience we offer under the Cancellation Policy section, as well as on the checkout page.

Standard Cancellation Policy — A majority of our activity cancellations are free up to 24 hours before the activity commencement time (based on the local time of the activity).

All Sales Final — If any Goods or Services are designated as ‘All Sales Final’ or with materially similar messaging (which includes but is not limited to all group bookings booked through our Group Bookings Department), it is non-refundable, and it will not be possible to change or cancel it after making a Booking for any reason.

Non-Standard Cancellation Policy — A minority of Goods or Services have other, different cancellation policies. In all circumstances, you must check the cancellation policy contained in the applicable Product listing at the time of your Booking, which is the policy that will apply to and govern the terms of your cancellation and any refunds.

Cancelling Your Reservation

To cancel your Reservation you must contact City Balloon Tours as soon as possible.

Cancellation Due To Bad Weather
If your Activity Operator must cancel due to bad weather and cannot accommodate you on another day, you will be issued a refund. Please be aware before issuing a refund, City Balloon Tours will confirm if this is the case. Please note, this is only a valid reason if the Tour Operator cancels the tour.

If Tour Operator Cancels Tour or Excursion
If, for some reason, a Tour Operator cancels and cannot accommodate you on another day or at another time, you will be offered a refund and the option to take the trip. In the event of cancellation due to bad weather, City Balloon Tours will confirm this before authorizing a refund.

Wherever possible, refunds are handled via our automated online system. In some cases, your refund request will require verification from various parties, and that work is done exclusively via email.
Approved refunds will be issued to your original method of payment within thirty (30 days) from the date of the approval.

Adjusting Your Reservation

Contact our office directly to make any adjustments to your reservations. If you call and reach voicemail, please leave a message including time, date, number of guests attending, and the name of the Tour or Excursion.
If you adjust your reservation, a voucher will be issued and applied to your new reservation date. Subsequently, a revised confirmation will be emailed to you.
If the newly adjusted Activity is canceled for any reason, a store credit will be issued. A non-refundable change fee of $25 per adult ticket will be applied at the time of reservation change.

Customer Responsibility

Make your concerns and complaints heard with the person in charge so that you may reach an agreeable solution immediately. Do not wait until you return from your vacation. If, for some reason, you feel a partial or full refund is merited, you must make this known on the same day of your Tour or Excursion.

Payment Dispute Policy

If You have any concerns or disputes about the Service, You agree first to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting the Company.
