Every bottle has been carefully selected to showcase the diversity and identity of Lazio, a wine region often overlooked by visitors. The experience is enriched with a selection of traditional Lazio specialties, fascinating stories about Roman food culture and winemaking, and insights from an expert host. What To Expect
Skip the crowded wine bars and discover a hidden side of Rome. Your experience begins inside a historic underground cave built into Monte dei Cocci, one of Rome's archaeological sites. This ancient hill, created over 2,000 years ago from millions of Roman amphora fragments, has maintained the perfect natural temperature for aging food and wine for centuries. After a short introduction to the history of Testaccio and Ancient Rome's food trade, your sommelier will guide you through four carefully selected wines produced exclusively in Lazio by independent wineries. You'll discover indigenous grape varieties such as Malvasia Puntinata and rare local blends while learning how the volcanic soils around Rome shape the wines' minerality, freshness and character. Each wine is paired with artisanal Lazio specialties selected to enhance every tasting. Unlike traditional food tours, there is no walking between venues.
