St. Peter’s Guided Tour with Optional Dome Climb in Roma
Overview
Begin your tour in Vatican City’s iconic St. Peter’s Square, where your expert guide will explain Bernini’s optical illusions and the ancient Egyptian obelisk. Enter St. Peter’s Basilica to admire Michelangelo’s La Pietà, the grand Papal Altar under Bernini’s Baldachin, and the richly adorned chapels and golden ceilings.
Descend to the sacred Papal Grottoes, the resting place of popes and royals, located directly beneath the main altar. If you choose the Dome Climb option, continue your visit with access to the top of Michelangelo’s majestic dome. After a short elevator ride and stair climb, enjoy breathtaking views of Vatican City, the Gardens, and Rome.
Select the St. Peter’s Basilica Express Tour (approx. 1 hour) for a quick yet enriching visit, or the Basilica, Grottoes & Dome Climb Tour (approx. 2 hours) for a full, immersive experience.
