This is a perfect experience for anyone looking to connect with local culture over food. Chiara will take you to Testaccio Market to learn about and select fresh produce. After the tour, return to Chiara's home kitchen where she will teach you how to make 2-3 traditional Italian dishes from their family recipes (group larger than 4 will walk 14 minutes from the market to Chiara's home). Finally, you will enjoy your meal together in your host's home.

What To Expect
This is a unique opportunity to visit the home of a local and explore traditional culture and cuisine. Meet Chiara at the Testaccio market to discover local ingredients. Your market tour will start with a warm cup of cappuccino in a typical roman bar! After which you will explore the market with Chiara and visit all her favorite vendors. Please note that Chiara's car can seat a maximum of 4 people, so for larger groups you will back back to Chiara's home after the market visit. It is a 14 minute walk uphill, from the market to Chiara's home. Your market experience will last for about one hour. After this, you will join Chiara in her kitchen and learn to make traditional Italian food in a hands-on cooking class followed by the meal that will last about 3 hours. You will be given printed recipes and Chiara will briefly introduce you to each dish before you start your cooking class. Learn how to make classic Italian dishes such as handmade pasta, tomato sauce, scaloppini (a meat dish), and tiramisu. After the class, you will move to the dining room to feast on your delicious Italian meal!
