Overview

Discover the heart of ancient Rome on this exclusive private guided tour of the Ara Pacis and Mausoleum of Augustus, two iconic monuments celebrating the city’s first emperor.

Start at the Ara Pacis, the stunning Altar of Peace, a marble masterpiece that honors Emperor Augustus’s vision of peace after years of civil war. Your expert guide will explain the detailed reliefs depicting mythology, Roman rituals, and imperial propaganda, offering a vivid look at Augustan art and politics.

Then walk to the nearby Mausoleum of Augustus, a vast circular tomb built by the emperor himself. Discover its architectural innovations, its role as a royal burial site, and the story of its decline and impressive restoration.

This private experience is perfect for those eager to explore the lasting legacy of Rome’s first emperor in an intimate and thoughtful way.

Please note that if the Mausoleum of Augustus is closed on the selected date, we will contact you to provide an alternative.
