2 Tank Dive at a Mayan Cenote
Overview
Don’t miss the opportunity to discover the real Mayan world. The largest and most incredible cavern and cave system in the world is in the Riviera Maya!
These water holes or "cenotes" have a great cultural and historical importance as they were considered sacred by the ancient mayans who believed they were the entrance to the underworld. They also feature stunning rock formations that took millions of years to form and numerous fossils in the walls as witnesses of time.
The cenotes provide fresh water to many communities and are necessary to keep the natural equilibrium of the Yucatan peninsula.

Participants in the 2 Tank Dive at a Mayan Cenote cannot fly in an airplane within 24 hours of their dive.
The main concern with scuba diving and flying is decompression sickness (DCS). Your body needs adequate time during an ascent to off-gas excess nitrogen, or you can form bubbles in your bloodstream, possibly leading to DCS.
Jun 2024If you have any doubts about becoming seasick on the water, we recommend taking a Dramamine® Motion Sickness Relief tablet the night before your trip. Some people recommend taking it the night before your cruise and then again that morning so you will not feel so drowsy.
