Bamberg is located in Upper Franconia and is approx. 1 hour drive from Nuremberg. Its historic city center has been a listed UNESCO world heritage site since 1993. This makes Bamberg one of just twelve sites in Germany and one of the 400 sites worldwide that have been recognized in this manner.
