Bampton

The final stop on the tour is the fantastic filming location that is Bampton village. Bampton is famous for being the filming location for Downton village in all 6 series and the feature film of Downton Abbey. Whilst here I will explain all about filming, give you chance to take photos outside some of the iconic buildings and, if they are feeling friendly, introduce you to some of the local people who adore the TV show almost as much as they love the people who now visit the beautiful village that they call home. You will also be able to explore the stunning 12th Century Church which is at the heart of the village. Whilst here your guide will explain the history of the church, how the church survived the reformation in the 16th Century, and why a crusader knight is buried here.Leaving Bampton at approximately 4pm, we aim to return you to your hotel by 6pm.
