Just around the corner from Ljubljana, a trip to a genuine Slovenian plateau awaits. Renowned for its authentic architecture and beautiful views of the Ljubljana Basin and Kamnik–Savinja Alps, Velika Planina is a perfect MTB destination. The ride will take you through forests and open pastures with cows and sheep, past traditional alpine huts where you can even get an opportunity to meet “old-school” shepherds and get to know their cheese-making tradition.
