The Berlengas archipelago is about 6 miles from Peniche and is made up of the Berlenga, Estelas and Farilhões islands ; however, only Berlenga is inhabited. UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 2011, Berlenga is very rich in fauna and flora and there you can walk along the trails , embark on a tour of the caves , visit the São João Batista Fort , the Duque de Bragança Lighthouse, or the Visitors Center. The island also has a campsite, beach, micro market, and restaurant.
