Giuseppe Tartini, the world-famous composer and violinist born and raised in Piran, left a lasting mark on the town. His bronze statue now stands proudly in the main square, alongside Tartini’s house, where visitors can admire one of his violins. Tartini Square is surrounded by impressive buildings, including the richly decorated Municipal Palace, Tartini Theatre, Maritime Museum, Aquarium, Marine Biological Station, Baroque House, and Apollonio Palace.
