The Cathedral and the Royal Chapel were constructed to underline the victory of the new rulers and to be a significant representation of christianity in Granada. The Royal Chapel additionally stands out as the final resting place for Queen Isabella and her husband king Ferdinand, whose glory is still remembered vividly in Spain.
