Yellowstone Winter Wolf and Wildlife Tour

Gardiner, USA
Book online or call us

from $1,200 per group (up to 10)

Lowest Price Guarantee
Yellowstone is the best place in the world to watch wolves. This winter tour focuses on viewing and learning about the park's wolves, as well as other wildlife including bison, moose, elk, and more.
Cool winter conditions drive animals like bison, elk, and wolves to lower elevations, especially in Lamar Valley which is well-known for its abundant wildlife.
This is the Roosevelt Arch that President Theodore Roosevelt laid the cornerstone for in 1903. We'll drive past it on our way into the park from Gardiner.
Every year, Lamar Valley is a top destination for some of the best wildlife viewing in the world. In the winter, it's an especially popular location for watching wolves in the wild.
Coyotes are often-forgotten animals in the park, but they are brilliantly clever which likely helped them escape exinction in the early 1900s when even larger predators were eradicated.

Overview

Yellowstone’s harsh winter conditions drive elk and bison down to lower elevations, especially in Lamar Valley where they’re often spotted by roadways.

Wolves follow their prey as they head to lower elevations, weakened by a lack of food and harsh weather.

People visit the park from all over the world to observe the dramatic lives wolves lead in the winter months as their position in the food chain is either strengthened or weakened.

This Yellowstone winter tour, including complimentary lunch, access to advanced optics, and an experienced guide, explores the dynamic relationship between wolves and their prey, the history of wildlife management in Yellowstone, and the incredible hardships wildlife endure through the park’s coldest months.
