    PLATANES IN TRSTENO – Two impressive plane trees, Platanus orientalis, soar to about 50 meters in height with a trunk circumference of 12 meters. Estimated to be 400 years old, these living giants hold immense scientific value. Nestled near the Adriatic Highway, they bear witness to Trsteno's rich history, located 18 kilometers from Dubrovnik's historic core. In Trsteno, a town once populated by wealthy merchants, shipowners, and seafarers, the trees were brought from Asia Minor by Captain Florio Jakob Antunov, known as "Indian."
