Today, Dubrovnik is one of the safest cities in the world. However, the historical archives of Dubrovnik hide many records of criminal cases from the past that we would like to share with you. This tour is entirely different than any other historic walking tour in the city because it speaks of another side of the history. It speaks of the people from the edge of society. It covers the number of stories about murders, conspiracies, usage of poisons, prostitutes and scandals, spies, witch trials and other devious things. It also discusses criminal justice which was more imaginative than in modern times. Executions, tortures, body mutilations, these are examples of typical punishments in cruel medieval times.
