Each level was a living experiment, where the ancient Incas domesticated plants, adapting them from the icy heights to the warm valleys, and vice versa, as if playing with the climate itself. In 1985, by placing thermometers on each terrace, researchers witnessed a silent spectacle: each level had its own microclimate, its own temperature, its own life.
