Winter Canyoning in the Rockies - Half Day
Overview
Our winter canyoning experience is the only adventure of its kind in the Canadian Rockies. Family friendly, and great for participants of all ages, young or old. We require only a moderate level of fitness for the approach hike up to the top of the canyon. Participants should be comfortable with hiking for approximately 60min, but don't stress we take our time.
Never tried rappelling before, no problem! Our guides will teach you all the necessary skills, and our canyons are progressive in their nature. That means they start off easy and grow in length of rappels allowing you to grow your confidence as you descend.
Our canyoning experiences also incorporates stunning and off the beaten path locations, including a unique slot canyon experience.

Meeting and Pickup
Pick ups are available from Canmore and/or Banff. If you are looking for pick up from Canmore or Banff please contact our office or please indicate pickup preference when booking. Pickup time from Banff will be 45 min prior to trip departure time Pickup from Canmore will be 20 min prior to trip departure time*Please Note: Pick up and drop offs are considered courtesy shuttles. Participants must understand that winter driving conditions in the Rockies can change quickly. Safety is our number one concern and so pick up and drop off times are only approximations, in bad weather travel can take longer and pick up and drop off times may vary slightly. We provide no refunds if participants are late or miss their pick up time

What To Expect
Hike, slide, scramble, and rappel through a spectacular world of snow and ice on our one of a kind half day winter canyoneering adventure. Go off the beaten path, escape the crowds, and discover a visually stunning landscape as you descend our family friendly canyon with ropes, slides and rappels. This is the only adventure of its kind in Banff & Canmore. A great trip for beginners and families with children as young as 8, our canyon experience is located just outside Canmore AB, and about 25 min east of Banff. An approximate 1 hour to 1hour 20 min hike from the staging area will bring you to the top of the canyon where your guide will assist and teach, you how to descend the various fun sections of the canyon. Ice cleats, crampons, harnesses, helmets, and all technical rope rappelling equipment is provided.
