What To Expect
Challenge yourself on the natural rock face of Kangaroo Point Cliffs in the heart of Brisbane, with sweeping views across the Brisbane River and city skyline.
Begin by meeting your experienced instructors and getting fitted with your harness, helmet and climbing equipment. Take part in a safety briefing and learn how the rope system works, how to find handholds and footholds, and how to communicate with the person managing your rope, known as the belayer.
Once you’re ready, approach the rock face and begin climbing. Choose your next hold, find your footing and work your way upwards, with your instructors offering tips and encouragement. Climb at your own pace and challenge yourself to reach a little higher with each attempt.
As you gain height, take in views of the river and Brisbane CBD. When you’re ready to come down, lean back into your harness and follow instructions as your belayer lowers you to the ground.
Participants must be aged 8 or older. Children aged 8–12 must bring an adult to belay for them, free of charge. Participants aged 8–16 must be supervised by an adult, who does not need to climb.
