Northern Lights tour with Alta Adventure
Overview
Join us for an unforgettable Northern Lights adventure through the stunning landscapes of the Altafjord! Travel in comfortable minibuses with a maximum of 16 guests, guided by passionate local guides who know the region and its hidden gems.
Since 2007, we have used our local knowledge and experience to give you the best chance of witnessing this magical spectacle, with a typical success rate of 80–90% when conditions allow.
Every evening is a new adventure! We follow the best conditions, sometimes travelling far and other times finding the lights close to Alta. Depending on our route, we may gather around a campfire or enjoy hot chocolate and snacks along the way.
More than a Northern Lights chase, this is an authentic Arctic experience. Our local guides share fascinating stories about life in Northern Norway, Sámi culture, reindeer herding, ancient history and wartime Alta.
We usually return shortly after midnight, hopefully with magical memories to last a lifetime!

Meeting and Pickup
Pick up time is aprox. 10 min before the tour starts but be aware that we can be a few minutes delayed due to several pick up places. Our guide will be there in a minibus.

- For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the tour start time.
- If you cancel less than 24 hours before the tour start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
- Any changes made less than 24 hours before the tour start time will not be accepted.
- Cut-off times are based on the tour local time (CET).
- This tour requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.
